OPEN JOB: Pharmacist In Charge
LOCATION: Galena Illinois

SCHEDULE:
  • Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM (closed for lunch 12:30–1:00 PM).
  • NO NIGHTS /  NO WEEKENDS.
  • Closed most federal holidays.
  • On-site parking available.
BASE COMPENSATION: $145,000 - $165,000 per year. 
 
IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree as well as an active pharmacy license for the state of Illinois
  • Min. 3 years’ pharmacy manager experience. 
  • Previous retail pharmacy experience to be considered.
  • Fluent in the English language

Pharmacist in Charge
  • As Pharmacist-in-Charge and Pharmacy Manager, you will serve as the clinical and operational leader of this site, partnering directly with health center providers, managing day-to-day pharmacy operations, and serving as a trusted member of the patient care team.
  •  You’ll have the autonomy to shape the patient experience and grow the pharmacy’s impact within the community.
  • This role reports to Corporate Pharmacy leadership and works in close partnership with our health center client and its clinical staff.
 
Primary Role:
  • Preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians and managing the overall day-to day pharmacy responsibilities. 



Essential Job Functions: 
  • Review and execute provider’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality 
  • Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster 
  • Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration 
  • Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice. 
  • Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient 
  • Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed 
  • Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing 
  • Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures 
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated 
  • Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies 
  • Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
  • Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE::
  • Min 5 years or more of retail pharmacy manager experience
  • Current License to practice (PharmD) in Illinois
  • Excellent oral, written skills
  • Fluent in the English Language
  • Previous leadership role helpful
  • Must be able to utilize Patient Management System in the Pharmacy
