IDEAL CANDIDATE:

SUMMARY:
- The Director of Facility Operations is responsible for the oversight of existing facilities and infrastructure including preventative maintenance, capital renewal, and capital improvement projects.
- This position is accountable for the development of strategic and operational goals specific to the department.
- This position provides overall life-cycle project management with responsibility to provide expertise, coordination, direction, and oversight on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), NFPA/NEC, OSHA, Life Safety Code, and other regulatory agency requirements, as well as following Adena Health System policies.
- Decisions are made independently or in collaboration with others.
Job Specific Essential Functions
- Development of capital improvement plans that address infrastructure and physical plant needs.
- Recommend facility improvements, including construction or renovation of existing structures.
- Create and maintain building infrastructure inventory and forecasting of equipment life cycles.
- Direct operations and preventative maintenance programs in order to maintain buildings and equipment, manage energy conservation, and mechanical and electrical systems. Provide quality assurance of preventative maintenance and corrective work orders. Plan and direct respective contractual agreements for preventative maintenance vendors.
- Liaisons with and coordinates the activities of outside contractors (architects, engineers, material/equipment suppliers, etc.) and internal departments to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Oversee grounds/building maintenance, work orders, and other projects to ensure that all locations are properly supported. This includes regular walk-throughs of clinical and support spaces.
- Develop, implement, and interpret departmental policies and procedures in alignment with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Up-to-date knowledge and awareness of Joint Commission (TJC) mandated documentation to help ensure that all federal and state accreditation standards are met. Participate in accreditation/regulatory audits, inspections and surveys.
- With site Facility managers, coordinate planned interruptions and plant services with affected administrators and departments.
- Accountable for the effective allocation of financial resources, including long-term financial planning, optimizing expenditures, and reporting on financial performance to meet organizational objectives.
- Support department and site leaders, in developing and managing facility budgets, controlling operational costs, executing capital projects, negotiating vendor contracts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and lease agreements.
- Analyze data from various data sources (such as water system compliance testing, maintenance and repair work orders, and other appropriate databases) to determine trends, identify issues, and recommend any needed changes to system operations or systems.
- Support and at times oversee services/needs that support building operations and assets such as valet services, fleet management, space/moves and interiors as well as the oversight of the Carlisle building operations.
- Serves as Subject Matter Expert for Facility Operations across the system including support and guidance for the Critical Access Hospital Facilities and regional locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 5-7 years of HEALTHCARE Facilities Management experience
- Bachelor's degree, Certified Healthcare Facility Manager or equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of OHSA requirements, CMS/TJC requirements, State of Ohio fire code, and EPA regulations required.
