Position Summary
- Under moderate supervision, performs a range of diagnostic imaging procedures across Angiography, Interventional Radiology, and Diagnostic Radiology and serves as team lead.
- Partners with physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic interventions while ensuring patients and families are clearly informed about procedures and special requirements.
Why this role is different
In Interventional Radiology, you're in the room when it matters most — part of the intervention while it's happening, not handing off a file.
- No two days look alike. Interventional Radiology is dynamic — emergencies, complex cases, and real-time problem solving that protocol-driven modalities simply don't require.
- A specialty that pays off. Interventional Radiology carries defined specialty status, strong job security, and demand that isn't going away.
- The energy is real. If you thrive in OR or ED environments, Interventional Radiology matches that intensity. This is a calling for techs who want to be where the action is.
What You'll Do
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in Angiography, Interventional Radiology, and Diagnostic Radiology settings
- Assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures
- Communicate procedure details, preparation requirements, and expectations to patients and families
- Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards

- Image-guided drain placements (abscess drains, biliary drains, nephrostomy tubes, pleural and peritoneal drains)
- Image-guided biopsies (liver, kidney, lung, lymph node, soft tissue)
- and more
NEURO INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY PROCEDURES:
- Cerebral and spinal angiography
- Endovascular aneurysm coiling and flow diversion procedures
- Stroke thrombectomy cases (mechanical thrombectomy)
- AVM and AVF embolization
- Carotid and intracranial stenting procedures
- Acute neurovascular emergency interventions
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's degree or equivalent (2 years of college); specialized field knowledge required
- 5 years of relevant imaging experience
- Active ARRT Certification
- Active Maryland State License
- Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
