Employer: Large Consumer Products (Shampoo, Soap, Laundry Detergent, etc) Manufacturer This position is with our client’s adhesives, sealants and functional coatings business unit Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of HSE and management systems to ensure environmental regulatory compliance and the company's HSE programs at Mentor facility. Duties will encompass a variety of HSE areas
Cultivation of the company's culture and values by promoting communication, teamwork, and respectful treatment of all individuals
Performs, coordinates or participates in internal and external HSE assessments (i.e. PHAs, JSAs, Ergonomic Assessments, ISO, PSM) to ensure compliance with HSE Standards and regulations
Manage compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Performs HSE inspections as required. Communicates with regulatory authorities, as required.
Responsible for Sites Compliance Calendar ensuring programs, training, emergency drills and various activities are completed in a timely fashion
Administer Employee Health Safety Environmental management practices under the ISO 45001 and ISO 14000 Standards. Administers dispensary services.
Develop & Lead site safety committee; take leadership role in enlarging the focus/scope of the safety committee's activities.
Prepare reports to management on investigations and evaluations of safety, health or environmental management issues.
Supervises and updates proper control over the collection, identification, segregation, transportation, recovery, and disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous wastes at Mentor. Includes the development of engineering procedures for the minimization of these wastes to comply with applicable HSE rules and regulations.
Act as Emergency Response Coordinator; Lead incident investigation and corrective action development.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required
5 years minimum of safety operation in a manufacturing setting
Environmental Compliance experience
Sustainability metrics and reporting experience preferred
Waste reduction strategies experience preferred Ability to collaborate and communication across teams
Project management experience
