This position is with our client’s adhesives, sealants and functional coatings business unit
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of HSE and management systems to ensure environmental regulatory compliance and the company's HSE programs at Mentor facility. Duties will encompass a variety of HSE areas
- Cultivation of the company's culture and values by promoting communication, teamwork, and respectful treatment of all individuals
- Performs, coordinates or participates in internal and external HSE assessments (i.e. PHAs, JSAs, Ergonomic Assessments, ISO, PSM) to ensure compliance with HSE Standards and regulations
- Manage compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Performs HSE inspections as required. Communicates with regulatory authorities, as required.
- Responsible for Sites Compliance Calendar ensuring programs, training, emergency drills and various activities are completed in a timely fashion
- Administer Employee Health Safety Environmental management practices under the ISO 45001 and ISO 14000 Standards. Administers dispensary services.
- Develop & Lead site safety committee; take leadership role in enlarging the focus/scope of the safety committee's activities.
- Prepare reports to management on investigations and evaluations of safety, health or environmental management issues.
- Supervises and updates proper control over the collection, identification, segregation, transportation, recovery, and disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous wastes at Mentor. Includes the development of engineering procedures for the minimization of these wastes to comply with applicable HSE rules and regulations.
- Act as Emergency Response Coordinator; Lead incident investigation and corrective action development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5 years minimum of safety operation in a manufacturing setting
- Environmental Compliance experience
- Sustainability metrics and reporting experience preferred
- Waste reduction strategies experience preferred Ability to collaborate and communication across teams
- Project management experience
